Missing Persons – Danny Domres Update 5/22/15
I am not going to lie to you: I almost broke today. Seriously. I woke up with my head pounding, and once I hit the street, I figured I had a logical plan of action for the day. Then, my phone blew up with texts and calls:
- Colorado Springs NBC KOAA Channel 5 wanted to do an interview for the 5:00 news (winning)
- I think there was another interview
- Family and friends called and texted
- A wonderful lady from Rockford had a tip (thank you)
- I needed fliers for some wonderful people at Fort Carson (I have them for you too)
- I wanted to get moving and get at it (places to go and people to talk to today)
I felt that life was spinning out of control. I couldn’t focus on anything or remember what I had to do. I had to call Julie several times to just think straight about a simple task. I was getting short tempered and just sat in a parking lot, almost melting down. Thank God, Jules recognized it and got me focused on the most immediate tasks. Thank you, baby, I couldn’t do it without you.
I really got focused after the Colorado Springs NBC KOAA Channel 5. Once I talked about Danny and told his story, I got charged up. We could do this! I got moving. I made several calls and even did some shopping for much-needed supplies.
Where We Stand as of 5/22/15
So where are we at in the process? I truly am sorry, but I can’t say too much due to operational security. We are turning over a lot of stones, and some good people are really helping us. We ARE making progress. I can assure you of that. Tonight, the Cavalry came over the hill, and we have an excellent Team for the weekend. As Dave Ramsey says:
How does this apply to our operation?
- We have a focused team of family, friends, strangers and volunteers.
- We are putting in the time.
- God is a force multiplier.
- We have some unstoppable momentum.
I have to thank Warrior Pointe, Missing Warrior Alliance Missing Warrior Alert and Warriors Aftermath and Recovery. The volunteers are putting in a lot of time on this, and I couldn’t do this without them. Scot, Kathryn, Trish, Raven, Rachel, Maggie and others are in the trenches and online helping and encouraging. You guys are real Warriors, and please thank you families for us. You guys are logging a lot of hours for people you don’t even know. Amazing.
Who are YOU people?
At the same time, I do have to ask, who are YOU people? You all are helping us so much with your prayers, shares, likes, encouragement, and financial support. We could not do this without you. I keep telling the blogs, news and newspapers that the positive side of this story is that people from all over this country and reaching out and helping. Military, police, family, friends, complete strangers…..it blows me away. There are so many problems out there in this world, but if we keep coming together and uniting, we are unstoppable. Thank you for all of your efforts and support. Keep it coming, please. You recharge our batteries and keep us moving forward.
Memorial Day Weekend is here. Give thanks for the tough job they are doing day in and day out. It is dirty job that takes determination, skill, training and courage. I couldn’t do what they are doing. I can’t imagine the stress and the pressure they are facing as they gear up for the next disaster in this world. I appreciate them and what they do.
Again, I have to reiterate to everyone: I am not the police. I am not the military. I am just a worried dad looking for his son. Any information provided is CONFIDENTIAL. I just want to find Danny Domres and bring him home.
Danny, if you are reading this; please reach out. We love you and just want to bring you home. We are always, ALWAYS here for you.
And just remember when life spins out of control and you think you can’t do it any more:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
